Checked the recently received Sonex/Stratomaster/Princeton-Electronics capacitive/resistive fuel level sender (Sonex pn STR-SS-PE-xx) for fit in the Onex tank. The probe is too long (`13" from tip to bottom of pipe fitting) to fit in the top hole near the filler opening. It will fit pointing up from one of the 1/8 NPT fittings in the bottom of the sump area. I presume this is were it is intended to go. Will check with Sonex. 4/9/12 Sonex confirmed the fuel level sensor is installed in one of the bottom tank fittings.
Updrilled the RH rear spar for ribs 7-11.
Clecoed the #6 rib to the aft spar with the RH rear spar attach angle, W10-03R. When attached to #6 rib, the 4 rear spar holes would not line up. Made a new part and made the short leg more square to the opposite leg and a little bit wider. This provides plenty of meat for the AN3 bolts and still clears the skin when riveted to the rear spar. There were some prior posts from Jeremy at Sonex emphasising there was about a 2.5 degree tilt angle on the #6 rib/doubler assembly. There is a bit of an angle built into the short leg of the original W10-03. The angle becomes apparent when comparing the lengths of the trailing edge of the middle skin. The bottom skin trailing edge is about 1/16" longer than the top trailing edge skin.
Updrilled and deburred rear angle leg with #12 for AN3 bolts.
